The brochure is one of the core marketing elements for any company, regardless the industry in which it operates. Regardless the shape and dimensions (bi-fold, tri-fold, or other dimensions) the brochures are created to serve one or more purposes: presentation of the company, presentation of the products/services offered by the company, sales brochures, brochures designed for a certain campaign, annual reports, etc.
The design of a brochure is extremely important, as it represents the graphic form that conveys both the image and the personality of a company, its philosophy, as well as the key feature of the targeted goal.
If the text of the brochure can be provided by the representatives of the company or created by a copywriter on the basis of a brief, the designing process belongs entirely to the graphic designer. Which are the dimensions that a brochure should have? What images should contain? What is the color scheme of a brochure? What finishes should have in order to convey the best message and achieve the best results?
These are questions with many answers. The design of a brochure is influenced by the evolution and trends of the printing industry and also the web design – the use of headers, of white space, and typography elements.
